Optically active naphthalene–Cr(CO)3 complexes via diastereoselective carbene annulation and haptotropic metal migration

Abstract

Pentacarbonyl[(+)- and (–)-menthyloxycarbene] complexes of chromium react with 3, 3-dimethylbut-1-yne diastereoselectively to give optically active naphthalene–Cr(CO)3 complexes which upon warming undergo an intramolecular haptotropic migration of the metal fragment.
