Layer-by-layer assembly of L10-FePt nanoparticles with significant perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

Abstract

The ordered assembly of face-centered tetragonal (fct, L10) FePt nanoparticles (NPs) has been fabricated through a layer-by-layer assembly method under an external magnetic field. The assembled L10-FePt film with controlled magnetic alignment exhibits significant perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, which shows great potential for ultrahigh density data storage application.
