Partially crystallized TiO2 for microwave absorption

Abstract

Amorphous TiO2 synthesized via Ti anodization is partially crystallized and displays strong microwave absorption ability. The property comes from the interfacial electric field formed at the boundary of crystalline–amorphous phases. This study grants anodic TiO2 a new potential application for absorbing electromagnetic energy.
