Arsaalkyne coupling reactions: synthesis, crystal and molecular structures of the first 1,3-diarsacyclobutadiene and 1,2-diarsetane complexes

Abstract

Treatment of the arsaalkyne As[triple bond, length half m-dash]C(C6H2But3-2,4,6) with [W(CO)5(thf)] affords the compounds [{W(CO)5}2{1,3-η1-As2C2(C6H2But3-2,4,6)2}]5 and [{W(CO)5}2{1,2-η1-[graphic omitted]H2)2}]6 which represent the first structurally characterised examples of 1,3-diarsacyclobutadiene and 1,2-diarsetane complexes respectively.
