Tungstate catalysed oxidation of secondary amines with hydrogen peroxide. A novel transformation of secondary amines into nitrones

Abstract

The sodium tungstate catalysed oxidation of secondary amines with hydrogen peroxide give the corresponding nitrones, which are versatile synthetic intermediates and spin trapping reagents, in a single step.
