Equisetin biosynthesis in Fusarium heterosporum

Abstract

An iterative polyketide synthase–peptide synthetase hybrid assembles the HIV-1 integrase inhibitory tetramic acid, equisetin, in the filamentous fungus Fusarium heterosporum.
