The abrasion resistance of a superhydrophobic surface comprised of polyurethane elastomer

Abstract

An elastic superhydrophobic surface has been fabricated via polymer replication. The surface shows superhydrophobic performance and durability against abrasion: the contact angle is high as 165.1° after being loaded with 2945.7 Pa and being rubbed at 18 cm s−1 10 000 times, the contact angle still keeps more than 150°, which demonstrates the elastic materials' advantage of improving the abrasion resistance of superhydrophobic surfaces.
