Cyclic phosphenium and arsenium cations with 6π electrons and related systems

Abstract

Cyclic phosphenium (1a) and arsenium (1b) cations are formed either by treatment of germylene 2b with ECl3 (E = P, As) or via the metathetical reaction of LiN(But)C[double bond, length half m-dash]CN(But)Li with ECl3 and the structures of 1a and 1b are compared with those of pertinent saturated analogues.
