Unique ligand imposed distortions in a nickel(II) 1,5,9-triphospha- cyclododecane complex

Abstract

1,5,9-Triethyl-1,5,9-triphosphacyclododecane ([12]aneP3Et3, L) reacts with NiBr2 to afford the salt [NiLBr]Br which is shown by X-ray crystallography to have an unusually distorted structure as a result of constraints imposed by the ligand L.
