Polymer pendant crown thioethers: synthesis and HgII extraction studies of a novel thiacrown polymer

Abstract

A novel C-substituted crown thioether has been synthesized and used to prepare a cross-linked polystyrene polymer containing pendant crown thioethers and that product has been shown to be effective in extracting HgII from acidic aqueous solutions.
