Substitutional Ti(1-x)RuxO2 surface alloys obtained from the decomposition of Ru3(CO)12 on TiO2(110)

Abstract

The partial decomposition of the organometallic compound Ru3(CO)12 on a TiO2(110) surface is observed at room temperature. Thermal treatment of the surface at 400°C leads to the formation of a surface alloy of formula Ti(1-x)RuxO2 that is characterized by means of XPS, XPD and LEED measurements.
