Abstract

Ring opening of the cyclic [(ButP)3As]− anion results from reactions with electrophiles (RX = H2O, MeI, CH2[double bond, length half m-dash]CHCH2I, PhCH2Br), providing a simple and general approach to triphosphine ligands of the type [(ButP)(ButRP)2].
