Porphyrin dimers bridged by a platinum–diacetylide unit

Abstract

A series of butadiyne- and platinum diacetylide-bridged conjugated porphyrin dimers have been prepared; electrochemical and UV-vis absorption measurements on these compounds show that the butadiyne-bridge confers stronger porphyrinporphyrin conjugation than the platinum diacetylide-bridge.
