Bio ionic liquids: room temperature ionic liquids composed wholly of biomaterials

Abstract

Ionic liquids composed solely of biomaterials, in particular a choline cation combined with propionate, tiglate, hydrogen succinate and hydrogen maleate, were obtained as room temperature ionic liquids with strong hydrogen bonding characteristics.
