Triethylsilane as a mild and efficient reducing agent for the preparation of alkanethiol-capped gold nanoparticles

Abstract

The reaction of HAuCl4ยท4H2O and n-C12H25SH with 1 equiv. of Et3SiH in an organic solvent affords spherical gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with narrow dispersity.
