Abstract

A Ga₂₀ single-strand wheel has been prepared by a targeted, propane-1,3-diolate-induced size modification of the known Ga₁₀‘gallic wheel’; the Ga₂₀ reverts back to Ga₁₀ on treatment with an excess of MeOH.
