Alkoxy chains in ionic liquid anions; effect of introducing ether oxygen into perfluoroalkylborate on physical and thermal properties

Abstract

The melting point and viscosity of [CF3OCF2CF2BF3] based ionic liquids are significantly lower than those of [CF3CF2CF2CF2BF3] based ionic liquids, indicating that the oxygen atom plays a key role in the preparation of low-melting and low-viscosity ionic liquids.
