Enhanced photocatalytic activity of quantum-confined tungsten trioxidenanoparticles in mesoporous silica

Abstract

Due to quantum confinement effects, tungsten trioxide nanoparticles ∼1.4 nm in diameter prepared in channels of mesoporous silica exhibited a widened bandgap and enhanced photocatalytic performance in the decomposition of benzene.
