“Drawing” upconversion nanophosphors into water through host–guest interaction

Abstract

Based on the self-assembly of β-cyclodextrin and adamantaneacetic acid, a simple and efficient strategy was developed to convert hydrophobic upconversion nanophosphors to biocompatible ones for bioimaging applications.
