Mechanochemical synthesis of homo- and hetero-rare-earth(iii) metal–organic frameworks by ball milling

Abstract

Liquid-assisted grinding in a ball mill for 20 minutes gives crystalline homo- and hetero-rare-earth(III) metal–organic frameworks by reaction between metal carbonates and benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (H3BTC) in the presence of small amounts of DMF or water.
