Monitoring i-motif transitions through the exciplex emission of a fluorescent probe incorporating two PyA units

Abstract

Pairs of pyrene-modified deoxyadenosine (PyA) units induce a stable interstrand i-motif structure, which can be characterized by a change in the fluorescence λmax, with an exciplex emission that is not observable in its single-strand structure.
