Hydroboration of an alkene by amine–boranes catalysed by a [Rh(PR3)2]+ fragment. Mechanistic insight and tandem hydroboration/dehydrogenation

Abstract

The catalytic hydroboration of tert-butylethene using H3B·NMe3 gives RH2B·NMe3. With H3B·NMe2H tandem hydroboration under mild conditions/dehydrocoupling occurs that produces R2B[double bond, length as m-dash]NMe2 (R = H, CH2CH2tBu).
