Synthetic approaches to oligomeric natural products

Abstract

Covering: up to the end of 2010

This review aims to examine families of oligomeric natural products, collections whose members are built from the successive union of a simpler secondary metabolite. After providing a collated series of examples of such families, classified either as serial or non-serial oligomers based on the mode of monomer union, various synthetic approaches that have been developed to prepare selected members in the laboratory are discussed.
