The protonation of metal carboxylates; new homogeneous hydrogenation catalysts

Abstract

Transition-metal carboxylates are protonated by non-complexing strong acids; in presence of a stabilizing ligand the solutions are catalysts for hydrogenation of C[double bond, length as m-dash]C and C[triple bond, length as m-dash]C bonds.
