Accessing low denticity coordination modes of a high denticity tripodal ligand to complete its coordinative repertoire

Abstract

New coordination complexes of the neutral tripodal tetra-amine Me6TREN with tBu3Ga or tBu2Zn have been synthesised and studied with their molecular structures revealing, for the first time, coordination to metal centres via an η1 or η2 mode, adding to previously reported η3 and η4 ligated examples.
