Spectrophotometric study of the electrochemical reduction of sulphur in organic media

Abstract

Reduction of elemental sulphur in dimethyl sulphoxide or dimethylformamide on an inert electrode has been studied, and spectrophotometric absorption bands obtained in the visible region attributed to various polysulphide ions.
