Selenium stablized anions. Conversion of β-hydroxy selenides into olefins

Abstract

Sulphonylation of β-hydroxy selenides, prepared by addition of organometallic compounds to carbonyl compounds, results in reductive elimination to give olefin under unusally mild conditions.
