Reactions of nitrogen oxides with di(cyclopentadienyl)titanium complexes

Abstract

Under various conditions the following reactions between dinitrogen oxide (N2O) or nitrogen mono-oxide (NO) and di(cyclopentadienyl)titanium (Cp2Ti) complexes are found: (i)(Cp2TiCl)2+ 2NO →(Cp2TiCl)2O + N2O; (ii) 2Cp2Ti(CO)2+ 1NO → 3CO + Ti-product; (iii) 2Cp2-Ti(CO)2+ 2NO → 2CO + CO2+ N2+ Ti-product; (iv) Cp2Ti(CO)2+ N2O → N2+ 2CO +(CpTiO)x; (v) Cp2Ti-(CO)2+ 2N2O →(CpTiO)x+ CO + CO2+ 2N2; (vi) CpTi + N2O →(Cp2Ti)2O + N2.
