Photocontrol of catalytic activity of capped cyclodextrin

Abstract

The rate of hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate catalysed by azobenzene-capped β-cyclodextrin (1) is accelerated by photoirradiation mainly owing to the increased binding ability of cis-1.
