Iron- and manganese-porphyrin catalysed aziridination of alkenes by tosyl- and acyl-iminoiodobenzene

Abstract

N-Substituted aziridines are formed by Fe- or Mn-Porphyrin catalysed reactions of Phl[double bond, length half m-dash]NR compounds (R = tosyl or COCF7) with alkenes; the stereochemical characteristics of these reactions are very different from those of the analogous epoxidation of the alkenes by Phl[double bond, length half m-dash]O.
