A one step synthesis of phosphine substituted sulphur capped clusters from phosphine sulphides: X-ray crystal structures of [Fe3(CO)82-CO)(µ3-S)(Ph2PC2Pri)] and [Ru3(CO)83-S)2(Ph2PC2But)]

Abstract

Reactions of phosphine sulphides with Fe2(CO)9 and Ru3(CO)12 occur via phosphorus–sulphur bond cleavage producing sulphido-capped trinuclear clusters; X-ray crystal structures of [Fe3(CO)82-CO)(µ3-S)(Ph2PC2Pri)] and [Ru3(CO)83-S)2(Ph2PC2But)] are described.
