Synthesis of 1,3-oxaphospholes via chromium mediated cyclization of carbenes, carbon monoxide, and phospha-alkynes

Abstract

Upon reaction of 2,2-dimethylpropylidynephosphane with pentacarbonyl[2-aryl(methoxy)carbene]chromium complexes a regiospecific cycloaddition of phospha-alkyne, carbene, and carbonyl ligands leads to 1,3-oxaphospholes, the crystal structure of one example of which has been determined.
