Phosphine complexes of lanthanum and lutetium

Abstract

Multinuclear variable temperature NMR studies on [MCl{N(SiMe2CH2PMe2)2}2], M = La or Lu, and [LuPh{N(SiMe2CH2PMe2)2}2] conclusively show phosphine co-ordination to these hard metal centres; in the case of lanthanum, this is the first reported phosphine complex.
