Superacid properties of sulfated zirconia as measured by Raman and 1H MAS NMR spectroscopy

Abstract

Large 1H chemical shifts are suggestive of protonic superacidity of sulfated zirconia catalysts, this property being related to the structure of surface sulfate species.
