One-dimensional ferro- and ferri-magnetic chains made of an alternating array of 1,3-bis(N-tert-butyl-N-oxyamino)benzene and MnII(hfac)2(Hhfac = hexafluoroacetylacetone)

Abstract

A black monoclinic crystal of 1,3-[ButN(O·)]2C6H4·MnII(hfac)2, for which the formation of one-dimensional chains by ligation of the bisnitroxide radical serving as a bidentate ligand to MnII(hfac)2 has been disclosed by an X-ray crystal structure analysis, undergoes transition to a metamagnet at 5.5 K.
