Synthtesis and reactivity of new chalcogen-rich aqua ions [Mo3S7(H2O)6]4+ and [Mo3Se7(H2O)6]4+
Abstract
The aqua ions [Mo3Y7(H2O)6]4+(Y = S, Se) containing µ3-Y and µ-Y2 core ligands have been prepared for the first-time, enabling chalcogen-transfer reactions with an H2O-soluble phosphine to generate the well-characterised [Mo3Y4(H2)O9]4+, reaction with Cl- to give substitution of H2O ligands (which are of two different types), and heterometallic SnII addition reactions to be studied.
