Large-scale synthesis of highly dispersed layered double hydroxide powders containing delaminated single layer nanosheets

Abstract

A facile method for the synthesis of Zn2Al-borate and Mg3Al-borate layered double hydroxides (LDHs) with extremely high specific surface areas of 458.6 and 263 m2 gāˆ’1 and containing delaminated nanosheets is reported. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of LDH powders that still remain exfoliated on drying.
