Fabrication of photocatalyst panels and the factors determining their activity for water splitting

Abstract

A photocatalyst panel of Rh2−yCryO3/(Ga1−xZnx)(N1−xOx) exhibiting activity comparable to that of a conventional powder suspension system was developed by spreading the photocatalyst powder onto 5 cm × 5 cm flat frosted glass plates together with micrometer-sized hydrophilic silica particles, which improved the porosity of the photocatalyst layer for more efficient mass diffusion through the photocatalyst layer.
