Electrocatalytic O2 reduction by a monolayer of hemin: the role of pKa of distal and proximal oxygen of a FeIII–OOH species in determining reactivity

Abstract

Investigation of the proton coupled electron transfer steps involved in electrocatalytic ORR by hemin modified electrodes allows the determination of pKas of the proximal and distal oxygen atoms of a rate determining FeIII–OOH species.
