Active LaNi1−xFexO3 bifunctional catalysts for air cathodes in alkaline media

Abstract

LaNi1−xFexO3 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.6) were synthesized by the sol–gel method. The Fe-substitution for Ni suppresses the formation of NiII on the perovskite surface and creates a stronger surface Ni–O bond. This study exhibits the possibility to adjust the bi-functional activity of LaNiO3 through a simple doping process.
