The novel linear-polymeric organolithium compound {(Me2NMe2Si)3CLi}

Abstract

The compound (Me2Nme2Si)3CH is readily metallated by MeLi in THF to give the linear-polymeric {(Me2Nme2Si)3Cli}, in which two of the N atoms in each planar carbanionic unit (Me2Nme2Si)3C are attached to one lithium atom and the remaining N atom to another Li atom; each Li shows planar three-coordination.
