Reactions of low-valent metal complexes with fluorocarbons. Part XXV. Phosphine, phosphite and cyclo-octa-1,5-diene platinum complexes

Abstract

Treatment of P[graphic omitted]·L2 with hexafluoroacetone affords the five-membered ring complexes P[graphic omitted]L2(L = PmePh2; L2= Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2). Hexafluoroisopropylideneamine reacts with P[graphic omitted]L2 to form complexes with the probable structure P[graphic omitted]L2, and with P[graphic omitted]H(Ph2PCH2)2 to give P[graphic omitted]H(Ph2PCH2)2. With hexafluoroacetone Pt[P(OMe)3]4 reacts to give P[graphic omitted][P(OMe)3]2, whereas Pt[P(OPh)3]4 yields only P[graphic omitted][P(OPh)3]2. Di-isopropyl(cyclo-octa-1,5-diene)platinum reacts with (CF3)2CO, (CF3)2C:C(CN)2, or C2F4 to give P[graphic omitted](1,5-C8H12), P[graphic omitted](CN)2(1,5-C8Hl2), or P[graphic omitted]F2(1,5-C8H12), respectively. Hexafluoroisopropylideneamine reacts with PtPri2(1,5-C8Hl2) to give Pt[N:C(CF3)2]2(1,5-C8Hl2), while hexafluorobut-2-yne yields Pt[C(CF3):C(CF3)H]2(1,5-C8Hl2).
