Phosphorus-31 and selenium-77 nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of tetraphosphorus triselenide

Abstract

Phosphorus-31 and selenium-77 n.m.r. spectra have been measured for P4Se3 containing 77Se in natural abundance, and assigned to give all chemical shifts and coupling constants for the molecules P4Se3 and P477SeSe2, where oSe represents any natural isotope of Se other than 77Se. Sufficient transitions for the molecule P477Se2oSe could be observed in its 31P n.m.r. spectrum to allow 2JSeSe to be found.
