Reinterpretation of the photoelectron spectrum of dinitrogen tetroxide

Abstract

A new interpretation of the He(I) photoelectron spectrum of dinitrogen tetroxide, N2O4, is based on the result of accurate spectrum stripping of time-averaged digitized spectra. Data from ab initio calculations and a density-of-states model are compared with an assignment based on correlations between NO2 and N2O4 ionization potentials.
