Communication. Inductively coupled plasma as an ion source for high-resolution mass spectrometry

Abstract

An argon inductively coupled plasma has been coupled to a double focusing, magnetic sector mass spectrometer. The expected improvements in instrument performance over quadrupole based systems have been achieved.
