Terpenoids. Part XXXII. Structure and stereochemistry of teucvin, a novel norclerodane-type diterpene from Teucrium viscidum var. Miquelianum

Abstract

On the basis of the results of an X-ray analysis on a bromine-containing derivative (5) and some chemical reactions on teucvin and its derivatives, the absolute structure of the natural product has been determined to be ent-(6R, 12R)-15,16-epoxy-19-nor-9,4-friedolabda-4,13(16),14-triene-18,6:20,12-diolactone (2).
