Phthaloylation of amino-azoles and amino-azines

Abstract

The phthaloylation of 2-aminobenzimidazoles, 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, 3-amino-5-methylpyrazole, 2-amino-pyridine, and 2-aminopyrimidine with phthaloyl chloride and with phthalic anhydride is described: in most series only phthalimide derivatives are formed, but some diazepines have been isolated.
