1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra and conformations of alditols in deuterium oxide
Abstract
The 1H n.m.r. spectra of the tetritols, pentitols, and hexitols in deuterium oxide have been recorded at 400 MHz, and the shifts and coupling constants obtained by computer simulation of the spectra. The shifts and 3J coupling constants were used to derive conformational data which support previous results on acyclic polyols.
