Magnetite ferrofluids stabilized by sulfonato-calixarenes

Abstract

Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles stabilised by sulfonato-calixarene macrocycles are readily accessible by a rapid in situ co-precipitation, and exhibit ferro-fluidic and superparamagnetic behaviour.
