Recent progress in facilitated transport membranes for CO2 capture: a bibliometric study based on the Web of Science database
Abstract
Membrane-based CO2 capture is considered a promising technique owing to its high efficiency and small footprint; in particular, facilitated transport (FT) membranes have gained more attention owing to their potential to break through the “trade-off” restriction. Great progress has been made in developing FT membranes in the past decades. In this study, a bibliometric study based on the Web of Science database was carried out on the topic of ‘FT membranes and CO2 capture’. Results were visualized and analyzed using HistCite Pro, VOS viewer, CiteSpace and bibliometrix software. The development of FT membranes for CO2 capture was systematically analyzed on the basis of different countries, institutions, authors and journals. Furthermore, burst words related to FT membranes published in the period of 1990–2024 were plotted and discussed. This work can be interesting for beginners to quickly understand the status of research on FT membranes across the world, and it will also be helpful for experts to predict the future developments in FT membrane-based CO2 capture.
